Brazil | ABAF and Cedagro promote the Brazilian Eucalyptus Congress in Salvador
The Center for Agroindustrial Development (Cedagro), the Association of Forestry Companies of Bahia (ABAF) and the Federal University of Recôncavo Baiano (UFRB) organize the VI Brazilian Eucalyptus Congress, which will be held from August 12 to 14, 2026 at the headquarters of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Bahia (Faeb), in the Comércio neighborhood, in Salvador de Bahía, Brazil. For the second time, the city of Salvador will host the Brazilian Eucalyptus Congress, whose main objective is to debate and propose alternative solutions to the main challenges that affect the forestry sector, as well as show scientific and technological advances, new market demands and business opportunities.
CBE is one of the most important Brazilian forums for technological innovation, updating and technical and business exchange, which integrates the agents of the wood production chain, represented by the segments of inputs, production, logistics, industry, marketing, export, and by credit, research, extension, teaching and development institutions, among others, explains the president of Cedagro, Gilmar Dadalto. The event is aligned with the work that ABAF has been developing in Bahia. In addition to providing information on important topics for the diversification and sustainability of agricultural activity, ABAFs objective is to stimulate the production and processing of plantation wood for multiple uses. Bahia still does not produce (or process) enough plantation wood to satisfy the states demand, and this is largely due to a lack of knowledge about the sector, they noted. We are also working towards the inclusion of small and medium-sized wood producers and processors, in order to satisfy the demand for furniture, parts and other wood products in Bahia, a demand that is currently covered, for the most part, by other Brazilian states, adds Wilson Andrade, executive director of ABAF.
