Black River | Government and institutions promote a balanced development model between production and the environment in Valles Irrigados

Within the framework of the impulse that the Provincial Government has been giving to forestry policy, a joint tour was carried out between the Forestry Directorate of the Ministry of Economic and Productive Development, the Provincial Department of Water (DPA), the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) and the consulting firm Lygnum.

The tour had as its axis a renewed comprehensive look at the territory, aimed at promoting solutions based on nature, such as the use of treated effluents for forestation, remediation and environmental restoration in areas of sanitation, production and ecosystem services. During the day, the technical teams analyzed the projects underway and evaluated new strategies to enhance forestry actions, incorporating criteria of sustainability, use of the resource and territorial planning. The Director of Forest Resources of Valles Irrigados, Antonio Puerta, highlighted that strengthening forestry policy is key to building a balanced development model between production and the environment. He added, on the other hand, that etting on nature-based solutions allows us to conserve, remedy and regenerate ecosystems, articulating efforts between public, technical and productive organizations to ensure a sustainable future for current and future generations. This instance of joint work constitutes one more step towards the consolidation of a sustainable forestry model, articulating knowledge, technical innovation and planning. inter-institutional to strengthen production, environmental management and the resilience of local ecosystems
