INTA Sáenz Peña professionals participated in the First Paraguayan Forest Congress
From September 17 to 19, 2025, the First Paraguayan Forest Congress was held at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Asunción (FCA/UN), under the slogan innovation and technology for the resilient and sustainable future.
The technical event for the countrys forestry sector, brought together more than 500 participants among specialists, academics, businessmen, students and institutional representatives, both national and international. The activities were organized around three thematic axes: forestry and forest management; Forests and biodiversity; and technology and forestry industries. Through the conference, plenary sessions were held with master conferences, specialized technical panels, presentations of scientific posters and a field of field with visits to sectoral interest sites. The diversity of formats allowed to address from academic and technical approaches to practical experiences, promoting dialogue between science, public policy and production. In this framework. MSC. Marcos Atanasio, of the Natural Resources Area of ??INTA Sáenz Peña, participated as a guest speaker in the parallel sessions dedicated to forestry and forest management. His presentation, entitled Advances in Silvopastoral Systems with Algarrobo in the Argentine Chaco, shared recent results on management models that integrate livestock production and forest conservation, highlighting its potential to improve the resilience of the resilience of the production systems in semi -arid areas. The exhibition generated interest among the attendees in their technical approach and their applicability in similar contexts of the Paraguayan Chaco region.
