Brazil | New Decree Updates Standards for the Transport of Native Wood Products in Mato Grosso

The rules for the transport of forest products and native trees by -products were modified by the government of Mato Grosso in early 2025. Decree No. 1.288/2025, published on the 16th, modifies Decree No. 937/2024 and regulates the issuance and issuance and Use of forest guide (GF) in the movement of wood loads and their derivatives. It also requires detailed geographical coordinates, from the origin to the destination of the Load, as well as the descriptive memory of the unique route for GF1 and GF2 modalities. In addition, he extended with detail the list of items that do not require GF, covering the wood used in general and the reuse of wooden, pens and houses, except the species listed in the annexes of the Convention on International Species of Species (CITES). To facilitate the transition and guarantee compliance with the norms, the Ministry of Environment State (Sema) of Mato Grosso will make technical orientation available. According to the Secretariat, the changes strengthen the monitoring of the production chain, fighting irregularities and promoting the competitiveness of the forestry sector in the national and international market.
