Missions | Luis Chemes will receive the 2023 Araucaria Award

In recognition of his professional career in Forest Engineering

The current director of Fire Management and Environmental Emergencies of the General Directorate of Early Warning of the Undersecretary of Territorial Planning of the Ministry of Ecology and Renewable Natural Resources of Misiones, will be recognized with the highest award given annually by the College of Forest Engineers de Misiones, within the framework of the Day of the Argentine Forest Engineer. The event will be next August 26, in Eldorado.
This year, the traditional annual recognition granted by the College of Forestry Engineers of Misiones (COIFORM), the "Araucaria Award 2023" for "Professional Career", will be for Luis Alberto Chemes
The prize is a piece of art, an araucaria seed carved in wood by the artisan Carlos Román Pauba from the City of Eldorado.
The board of directors every August 16 highlights the trajectories of professionals from both the public and private spheres and, in turn, highlights the commitments assumed with the collegiate institution.
"Luis Alberto Chemes, with professional registration No. 279, will receive recognition at the age of 71 for his professional career and permanent contribution and valuable institutional commitment (Resolution 550/2023) at the camaraderie dinner that professionals will hold in the city of Eldorado next Saturday, August 26.
Chemes was born in Santa Fe, on November 12, 1951, he is a descendant of Lebanese parents, but five days later he was already in Colonia Victoria, Misiones province. From there he took his first steps, where he grew up until he was four years old when his family decided to move to the city of Posadas and there he put down his roots until he went to study Forestry Engineering at the National University of La Plata. (UNLP).
He graduated in 1977 from the Higher Forest School of the Faculty of Agronomy of the National University of La Plata - UNLP.
