
The Expo Vivienda y Foresto-industria 2023 in Concordia had a large number of visitors and established itself as a meeting to promote the development of the forestry sector in the region and wood construction
Within the framework of the ExpoVivienda y Foresto-industria 2023 that took place at the Concordia Convention and Events Center, on July 7 and 8, a new provincial forestry table for the sector was held.
The meeting, organized by the provincial government, through the Secretary of Industry and Commerce of Entre Rios and its General Directorate of Domestic and Foreign Trade, had the support of the Federal Investment Council and the collaboration of the municipality of Concordia. Carlos Bahr, in charge of coordinating the event, explained that on this occasion the main protagonists were the category of wood for construction, wooden housing, furniture, technology, innovation and design.
The Expo also had the presence of exhibitors, trainers and businessmen who offered their knowledge in the field. In addition, there were stands of companies and institutions that exhibited their work for the public present. At the expo, after touring the stands and talking with the exhibitors, Mayor Enrique Cresto valued the development of the industrial forestry activity, thanked the Nation and the Government of Entre Ríos for the event's support and said that "the forestry industry occupies a very important place within the regional economies. This type of exchange strengthens us as a region with great potential for growth”.
In addition, in the framework of the Expo Vivienda y Foresto-Industria 2023. A forestry table was held, various agenda items related to the forestry market and the need to have accurate statistical information were addressed.
The agro-industrial businessmen, engineers and technicians present expressed their commitment to forestry activity and highlighted the importance of prioritizing the Forest Area of the province, requesting a management of cultivated forests and the necessary infrastructure for
promote forestry plans.
Within the framework of the meeting, the modifications and reforms proposed in Law 25,080 on Investments for Cultivated Forests were discussed, with the aim of guaranteeing its better implementation and strengthening financing for sustainable forestry promotion. In addition, the need to have updated information on the availability of plantations, species, ages and volume of forest harvest was highlighted.
The meeting was attended by Sabina Vetter, director of Industrial Forestry Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, the Secretary of Industry and Commerce, Fernando Caviglia, the director of Domestic and Foreign Trade, Jesús Pérez Mendoza and Lorna Sacks, head of Forestry of the province .
Likewise, leading figures from the private sector participated, including Alejandro Giudice from AFoA Río Uruguay and Christian Lamiaux from FAIMA and APICOFOM.
The event has the collaboration of the National Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and the support of the Federal Investment Council (CFI).
This exhibition expresses an opportunity to promote the development of the forest-industrial sector and promote the construction of houses with wood in the province.
