San Vicente prepares for the National Wood Festival
La 38° edición de la tradicional Fiesta Nacional de la Madera
San Vicente started with the preparations to live the 38th edition of the traditional Fiesta Nacional de la Madera, an event that boosts the economic and tourist development of the city, while also preparing its second edition of the Pre Fiesta that has closed for it 4th and 5th of August.
Preparations have begun for edition No. 38 of the Fiesta Nacional de la Madera, which will take place in November. Mariana Rodríguez Lange, from the Press Area of the Municipality of San Vicente, commented on how it is being prepared. «We launched our bono, the first bono that takes place in this framework. Go to have as a prize the first three prefabricated houses, then come the cashier. It went on sale a week ago, for sure it is having a very good reception from Sanvicentinos and the tourists that are arriving, for those who want to purchase it, sale 2,500 pesos and will draw at the fiesta de la wood on Sunday».
In that line, she indicated that she is working for what is the Pre-Fiesta, from which the wood queen that will take place in August is chosen. «We are also a few days away from living the pre-fiesta that was also held last year, which was the first edition that was made. We already have it closed, it's the 4th and 5th of August at the polideportivo de nuestra ciudad, and of course we invite everyone who can come to participate », she explained.
She also commented that they have much expectations for this edition of the fiesta. «The truth that there are many expectations. In Sanvicentinos alone we were very happy, as artists from different parts of the country want to come back».
This celebration is not only a festive event, but it is also an impetus for economic and tourist development. Last year there was a big repercussion that raised $83 million pesos. «The vision of the intendente always has to see how these events are an economic movement also for the city and an opportunity for entrepreneurs. In addition, work is being done in the municipality to generate spaces so that artisans can visualize and display their products. We are thinking about how to benefit the small entrepreneur and also to attract the tourist again».
