VIII Latin American Forestry Congress and IV Argentine Forestry Congress
In one of the most important events of the Argentine and Latin American forestry sector, INTA was co-organizer and participated with scientific papers, in the form of posters and oral presentations.
This congress brought together more than 1,000 people related to the forestry sector in Latin America (Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, among others). In it, more than 230 works were presented, of which 120 were exhibited in poster format, 75 in oral presentation format and the rest as extended abstract. Within this framework, INTA Concordia had an outstanding presence coordinating the thematic axis IV "Biometry, forestry and productive innovation" in which more than 90 papers were received for review and 20 of them were selected for oral presentation, on Monday 27 and Tuesday March 28. In addition, INTA Concordia professionals gave a dissertation called "Building in wood as a trend that is growing in Argentina" within the framework of the Symposium on "Current events and challenges of the forestry, industrial, wood and bio-dendroenergy sector in Argentina and Chile". Organized by the wood technology commission (CTIM) of the Argentine Forest Network (RedFOAR), 4 papers were also presented and selected to be published in proceedings.
The published works are: “Tools to estimate pruning opportunity in different eucalyptus materials”; "Relationship of average cracking in boards with respect to the characteristics of the rolls in eucalyptus clones", "Radial and axial variation of the density of the wood in Eucalyptus clones" and "Determination of Edaphic Thresholds for the Implantation of Clones of Species and Hybrids of Eucalyptus in the Saline Depressed Plain, Tucumán-Argentina”.
This event was organized by the Government of the Province of Mendoza, the Federal Investment Council, the Argentine Forestry Association (AFoA), the INTA Forestry Program, the University of Cuyo - Conicet and the CONFLAT Secretariat.
INTA Concordia added to this congress the commitment of its professionals both in the organization and in the papers presented, which are inputs for the development of the sector.
