Senasa explained the conditions and requirements to export at the "Madera Argentina para el Mundo" Seminar in Corrientes

The National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (Senasa) participated in the first seminar on the production of Argentine pine wood for export, which was held in the city of Corrientes, and was organized by the Secretariat of Government of Agribusiness of the Nation , the Argentine Forestry Association (AFOA) and the provincial government.

Various players in the public and private sectors gathered at the correntina capital to share experiences and raise and define scenarios that promote new export business, within the framework of a meeting designed to bring opportunities and relevant information to those who are exporting or wishing to export products forest base.

In this sense, Mabel Mendez of the International Relations Coordination (CRI) of Senasa, highlighted the most important points regarding the management of open markets by the Agency and outlined the main destinations in actual export, and those potential markets of wood.

It is worth noting that during the last three and a half years, the Argentine production - located mainly in Corrientes and Misiones - had an exponential growth of exports to countries in our region, North America, Europe and Asia. The latter stands out as the most dynamic market with a total of more than 161 thousand tons in that period, followed by North America (54 thousand tons), South America (12 thousand tons) and Europe (701 tons).

During the day the Corrientes governor, Gustavo Valdés; the Secretary of Agribusiness, Luis Etchevehere; the provincial ministers of Production, Jorge Vara, and of Industry, Raúl Schiavi; the national director of Forest-Industrial Development, Nicolás Laharrague; the president of the AFOA, Osvaldo Vassallo, and the mayor of Corrientes, Eduardo Tassano. Also, during the day highlighted important national and foreign speakers linked to the global forestry industry.
