El edificio de madera más alto del mundo está en Noruega y tiene 14 pisos

La construcción, con vistas al puerto noruego de Bergen, consiste en una estructura de madera laminada y pisos modulares prefabricados

Hasta 62 apartamentos es capaz de albergar este edificio enteramente construido de madera en Bergen, en el suroeste de NoruegaEl árbol, como se ha llamado a la torre residencial, mide casi 53 metros de altura que se dividen en 14 plantas. La principal ventaja de edificar con madera es que el ensamblaje de las piezas se asemeja a un juego de construcción. “Es muy fácil de trabajar desde un punto de vista industrial, puedes hacer piezas en fábricas alrededor del mundo, traerlas a un lugar y luego puedes construir la casa”, afirma el jefe de proyecto Ole Herman Kleppe.

La madera es un almacén natural de dióxido de carbono, el principal causante del efecto invernadero; además, su producción no emite grandes cantidades de gases contaminantes, como el hormigón o el acero. Y por si fuera poco, se trata según sus promotores de uno de los edificios más seguros de la ciudad frente a los incendios. Los detractores del proyecto, en cambio, creen que la tala masiva de árboles contribuye a la pérdida de los bosques, y por tanto, no hace ningún bien al medio ambiente.
